HSE #33: Send this email tomorrow.

Hey there!

Thanks for reading Humans Sending Emails.

The emails are easy to read.

The content is digestible.

And the advice is never gimmicky.

Like what you've read? Forward to a friend.

Let's dig in.

Let's get right to the point.

I want you to send an email to your list tomorrow.

Seriously.

I'll explain later.

But first, here's what to do.

Think of a really simple lesson you can teach your audience.

Doesn't have to be complex...in fact it's better if it's not.

If you're struggling to come up with something, let me rephrase:

What's a point you'd like to make β€” that you think they need to know?

(Related to what you do, obviously)

β†’ EXAMPLE

I might like to teach the point:

"You must earn a subscribers' trust before asking them to buy."

The lesson, or point, is a matter-of-fact statement that is related to the work that you do.

Got yours?

Good.

Now...

I want you to think of a story that relates to this point or lesson.

Take your time.

It can be your own personal story, a client story, a historical story, or just an everyday occurance.

Remember β€” (this is crucial) β€” it must connect logically to the point you're trying to make.

β†’ EXAMPLE

I might use a story about the salesman coming to my door, why I didn't buy, and why most people don't actually buy like that.

See how it relates to my point?

Stories are a great way to help convey our lessons or points in an engaging way.

(Think about any public speaker who begins a lesson with a story)

Now...here's the last part.

I want you to connect this story & point to an offering.

Lay all of your offerings out on the table.

Your course, your 1:1 service, your templates...whatever you have, lay them out.

Then I want you to choose the one that makes the most sense in relation to the point you're making.

(And why it connects.)

β†’ EXAMPLE

For the example I've been using, I'd probably choose my Email Marketing Roadmap.

Why?

Because in that offering, I design for you an entire email marketing strategy that's built on trust and thought leadership (not gimmicks and hacks).

So let's put this together...

You want to make a point.

You have a story that relates to the point.

And you have an offer that can bring the point to life.

Remember, all 3 parts must connect seamlessly and logically.

If it feels out of order, your offer feels like a pitch.

But if they connect seamlessly?

Your offer feels like a no-brainer.

Now I want you to put it all together into one email.

It should look something like this:

Tell a story.

Make a point.

Lead into an offer.

(Oh and make a CTA)

I want you to do this ASAP.

Why?

Practice.

So you'll see that it's not so scary.

So you'll get practice thinking this way and writing emails.

See, you can do very well with email marketing by mastering this skill I've showed you today.

Now, fair warning...

Your first one may not be great.

But don't chicken out.

Send it anyway.

After this, you can do it once or twice a week.

You'll get better, I promise.

It doesn't have to be super formal or fancy.

It's just emails.

Here're the benefits of doing this:

  • Position yourself as a trusted leader
  • Learn how to teach purposefully
  • Stay top of mind w/ subscribers
  • Get better at telling stories
  • Get more confident

And who knows...

You might just get a new customer out of it.

Are you up for this challenge?

Send me a reply to let me know and hold yourself accountable.

Then let me know how it goes.

Here to help,

Jeff

β€’ What's next for you? β€’

You can write pretty well on social media.

But writing emails?

That's another story.

My upcoming course, How to Write Hypnotic Emails, will be coming out soon.

It'll help you become your subscribers' favorite person to get emails from.

Sound cool?

If so, join the waitlist for it.

Soon, I'll be sharing exclusive things (like bonus calls and sneak peeks) ONLY with my friends over on the waitlist.

The first bonus call might be a live session about finding your niche.

Hey there, Just dropping in on a Monday with a fine piece of conversion copywriting analysis. (to help you write better sales copy) See, even though I'm primarily an "email guy'... Every now and then, I've gotta write a sales page. I HATE EM. They're long, tedious, and ya gotta be precise. BUT you must know... A sales page can make or break your product sales. A good page makes writing emails easy because it does ALL the heavy lifting. And that's why we're here today. My friend Lessa did a...

Hey Reader, To get conversions in email, you gotta get more clicks. One way to get more clicks: Reduce the amount of options you give. For example... I see nearly everyone saying this in their emails: "When you're ready, here are 3 ways I can help you." I think this was popularized by Justin Welsh. The problem with it? You're not Justin Welsh, and you can't afford to try. Justin Welsh is so popular and has over 1M followers across his social channels. He has firmly established himself as the...
