Hey there!

Thanks for reading Humans Sending Emails.

The emails are easy to read.

The content is digestible.

And the advice is never gimmicky.

Let's dig in.

THE LESSON

Last month, I worked the biggest project I've ever been part of.

And last week...it all culminated in a launch.

Over 4 days, the AI Audience Accelerator course:

β€’ sold 800+ copies,

β€’ grossed $126k in sales,

β€’ and netted $111k in revenue.

Some of the revenue came from social media and some came from email.

Admittedly, we were so swamped with work that we didn't take time to implement UTM links to truly track what came from where.

Big, big miss on our part there.

The course creator was Ole Lehmann, the founder of AI Solopreneur.

The launch was a collaborative one, and truly a fun experience.

I developed the overall email strategy and wrote the bulk of the content...

while Ole added his own flair and voice to each email before clicking 'Send' (he also wrote two of the emails himself).

I believe the collaborative nature really contributed to the success of these emails.

It wasn't just "good copy" and "strategy", and it wasn't just "brand voice" and "personal touch."

It was all of the above.

Context.

Ole built the AI Solopreneur on the heels of the 'AI Craze' earlier this year.

He found an underserved audience and capitalized on it perfectly.

As a result, he grew extremely fast on Twitter (0 to 100k in 65 days).

But because his content on social media is so good, his audience is very engaged.

Launching a product to a warm audience of 100k people is definitely a perk.

A bit more context before diving in...

The product was really, really good.

It wasn't just a gimmicky money grab.

The content is going to tremendously help the folks who actually implement it.

So we had that going for us.

Now to the email stuff.

The entire time I was building the strategy and writing the emails, I was thinking about you.

I wanted this thing to crush, so I could then share with you exactly how we did the emails.

Because launching is HARD.

And unless you've done it? It's hard to know where to begin.

I sure didn't.

And that's why we're here today, just 2.5 days after this launch ended.

It's still very fresh in my mind (it's all I've thought about for 4 weeks)...

So I want to give you a special inside look at our email launch strategy:

  • The psychology behind the strategy
  • Email-by-email breakdowns
  • Copywriting techniques

And to make it more digestible and entertaining, I made it in video format.

I wanted to be able to really share my thoughts and lots of details, and there just isn't a way to do that with copy (without it being 5,000 words).

Quick disclaimer before you dive in...

This strategy is not intended for you to copy & paste as some sort of template.

You could...but it may not work for you.

The strategy and emails were developed based on THIS brand and THIS product.

What you SHOULD take away from what I'm sharing today are the core principles and the psychology.

So without further rambling...

THE TAKEAWAY

Launching is hard work.

And as I mentioned, this is the first BIG launch I've ever done with high stakes and huge reach.

It's something I'm curious to explore more, and I'd say the success we had here is something to build on.

As I went through this process, I learned a lot β€” and I'm keen to share it with you.

So here are the big takeaways I want you to know about launching a product with email marketing:

  • Success depends largely on the anticipation you build BEFORE launch
  • Proof is KING
  • Urgency must be real
  • Find ways to keep pushing the pain points
  • Make it super easy for people to buy
  • Email WAY more than you feel comfortable (lost hundreds of subscribers but gained thousands of dollars)
  • Keep it fresh and entertaining. Have to keep interest over several days.

I hope this behind-the-scenes look helps you understand how I used email to frame, position, and sell this product.

So that you can sell more of your products, too :).

If you found this helpful, please let me know.

Or forward to a friend who needs to see it.

All the best,

Jeff

Hey there, Just dropping in on a Monday with a fine piece of conversion copywriting analysis. (to help you write better sales copy) See, even though I'm primarily an "email guy'... Every now and then, I've gotta write a sales page. I HATE EM. They're long, tedious, and ya gotta be precise. BUT you must know... A sales page can make or break your product sales. A good page makes writing emails easy because it does ALL the heavy lifting. And that's why we're here today. My friend Lessa did a...

Hey Reader, To get conversions in email, you gotta get more clicks. One way to get more clicks: Reduce the amount of options you give. For example... I see nearly everyone saying this in their emails: "When you're ready, here are 3 ways I can help you." I think this was popularized by Justin Welsh. The problem with it? You're not Justin Welsh, and you can't afford to try. Justin Welsh is so popular and has over 1M followers across his social channels. He has firmly established himself as the...
